At last, Gareth Hinds 3 issue miniseries retelling the classic epic Beowulf is collected into a single book. Retelling the saga of Beowulf in 3 chapters, split between his battles with Grendel, Grendel's mother, and his death as an old man against a dragon, Hinds' art evolves as well, climaxing in the amazing lush color of the second chapter (the art was painted on sheets of wood that lets the grain of the wood show through, adding an amazing texture!) before drawing down to the faded colors of Beowulf's last days. Very cool.
